College Field Hockey
Field hockey at the college level in the USA is a women’s only sport. There are over 300 USA universities that play women’s field hockey in the NCAA. Most of these colleges are situated on the East Coast and Midwest regions of the USA. Women’s Hockey is experiencing exponential growth in popularity, and top-level university teams across the nation are offering ever-increasing numbers of USA Hockey Scholarships.
Most Division 1 (D1) college teams have 12 full Scholarships while Division 2 (D2) colleges are only allowed to have 6 per team. Division 3 (D3) teams do not give hockey scholarships but will offer academic scholarships for top achieving hockey players.
